Community Guidelines

We're so grateful for your participation in our Master Class! Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing environment where all members of our nest can learn and support one another.

We ask all Master Class participants to please keep these guidelines in mind during all interactions:

  1.  Respectful communication. Participants should engage in respectful and courteous communication at all times, avoiding insults, harassment, and demeaning language.
  2. No hate speech or discrimination. Content promoting hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability is strictly prohibited. Birds of all feathers are welcome here!
  3. Privacy. What's said in Owlcademy, stays in Owlcademy. What's learned, leaves. In other words, don't share details without permission from the cohort members!
  4. No spam. Excessive posting of irrelevant self-promotional material, spam, or content is prohibited. That said, if you'd like to share any of your works or services related to technical writing or knowledge management, please feel free to share!
  5. No illegal activities. Discussions or content promoting illegal activities, including piracy, illicit drug use, or other unlawful conduct, are forbidden.
  6. Source crediting. When sharing information or content from other sources, participants should credit the original source.
  7. No explicit content. Sharing explicit, adult, or NSFW (not safe for work) content is not permitted.
  8. Constructive criticism. A good rule of thumb is to reserve critique or feedback when it is either explicitly asked for, or if you ask first. When offering criticism, it should be constructive and aimed at helping and improving, rather than disparaging or belittling.
  9. Report rule violations. Participants should report any content or behavior that violates the community guidelines to a KnowledgeOwl team member (Kate, Marybeth, Veronica, or Chad). We recommend doing this privately in Slack so we can act as quickly as possible.

Thank you for coowlperating with us on our community guidelines! If you have questions or feedback, please feel free to DM a KnowledgeOwl team member.

We'll see you in class! 🦉
